Independent researcher
I run CAS-LAB Science, an independent one-person lab. My background is electrical and computer engineering, and before that the U.S. Air Force, as a Computer and Satellite Communications Specialist. I have worked as a research intern on nEXO, the neutrinoless double-beta decay experiment, after earlier work at SLAC, and I am a member of the IEEE Computer Society.
The lab’s work is instrumentation, materials science, autonomous systems, and sEMG — each with its own thread. Alongside the hardware I build study apps for differential equations, linear algebra, and materials science.
I publish notes, data, and source as the work happens rather than after it is tidy.

Instrumentation & measurement
Analogue and RF hardware — fault-finding, repair, characterisation, and the test rigs and calibration work around it.
Computational & applied modelling
Simulation, numerical methods, and data analysis applied to physical systems, especially where the model has to match a bench measurement.
Teaching & explanatory tooling
Interactive tools for engineering and materials science — the kind that make an abstract idea manipulable instead of memorised.
How the work runs
- Open by default — notes, data, and source get published unless there is a reason not to.
- Small, well-scoped pieces of work with a clear question behind them.
- Reproducibility over polish: a rough result you can re-run beats a clean one you cannot.
