Materials science visualisation toolkit
Interactive crystal structures, phase diagrams, and a periodic table built to make materials-science concepts manipulable rather than memorised.
Static textbook diagrams make it hard to build intuition for how crystal structures pack, or how a phase diagram maps onto a cooling curve. Each piece of this toolkit turns one of those into something you can rotate, scrub, and query.
Components
- Rotatable BCC, FCC, HCP, and simple-cubic lattice viewers.
- Phase diagram explorer wired to the corresponding cooling curves.
- Transformation-kinetics diagrams you can step through.
- Periodic table with per-element popouts.
Status
Actively used and extended. Currently packaged as Python tabs; a browser port is the next step so it can live under Tools here.
